HELP CILANTROS SOUP KITCHEN BUILD A NEW PORTABLE KITCHEN
Cilantros Soup Kitchen is looking to raise $2,000 to purchase the needed materials to build a custom portable kitchen that will fit on most standard sidewalks and be able to be pushed or pulled behind a bicycle to enable our outreach team to take our kitchen with us to key homeless spots around the kalihi and Honolulu area and deliver hot food, drinks, clothes and care-packages to those in need. It will also help us spread the word about our service and help to challenge people’s perception about homeless people.

Why is the Portable Soup Kitchen Needed?.....
We go out and feed the houseless 4 times a month (Every Sunday) and we have to pick and choose what we take with us and how much food we can serve with the limited space we have. We have to fit everything into a small Gorilla Cart.

The Appeal:
Hawaii is #1 when it comes to homelessness. The numbers are constantly growing every day. It is vital that we help them. The number of homeless here in Hawaii has doubled in the last two years so it is more important than ever to support those most in need.
Since beginning in January 2017 Cilantros Soup Kitchen has received NO funding up until recently. For the most part we have been paying for everything out of pocket. We have solely survived on goodwill donations and money from various donors. The money needed for this project is extremely expensive, especially when taking into account the amount of funds needed to build a tiny portable kitchen that we can take with us. We are asking and pleading for YOUR support in helping us make a difference in our community here in Hawaii.
Who We Are:
Cilantros Soup Kitchen is a Small Kitchen serving those in need in and around the Honolulu area. It provides food, support and company with no obligation attached. It aims to empower people in a warm and friendly environment.
What we’ve done so far in 2017:

Served up to 50+ houseless people a week with food and drinks even toys and clothes.

Delivered food and distributed care packages to those in need

Received regular food donations and contributions

Helped 4 people get back into full time employment

Delivered food, clothes, toys and cellphones to families in need

Outreach to homeless communities outside of the Honolulu area.

Sample Design
Right now our main focus is building a portable kitchen that we can take with us on Sundays. We have a build plan already in place. The new kitchen will replace our current kitchen set up we are using. It will make serving food and transporting everything a lot easier for us. We are currently using a gorilla cart to transport everything but we are limited on space and have to pick and choose what to bring with us. The new kitchen design and upgrade will have more storage space, will feature an actual kitchen counter as well be inclosed inside an actual structure so we are out of the heat and rain when serving food. It will have a place to store our food and material and a specific spot to store our stew pot and prevent spills while out and about walking around feeding those in need.
